Born as part of the Proteus Project on Sovara, Ari was genetically modified with regenerative traits derived from the Zova. Following a catastrophic containment breach at the facility he was created, Ari's family fled to Vost. A few years later, after the Theta Virus was released, his parents were killed by an infected droid. Ari spent his next few years scavenging for survival within the ranks of the Vost Scrapper Guild. His experiences honed his skills in mechanical repair and combat, alongside a fierce loyalty to his friends Kairu Akuna and Domelo Marcell. Despite a troubled past, Ari possesses a quick wit, resourcefulness, and courage that drive him to protect others.

Early Life

Ari was born on Sovara in 3324 AE. His parents were scientists affiliated with the Proteus Project and conducted genetic research alongside Bora Sovech and Soya Sovech. Born as part of an experimental programme for the Proteus Project, Ari was genetically modified with regenerative traits derived from the Zova, an apex predator species native to Sovara. He spent his early childhood on Sovara, where he grew up alongside Lila Sovech, the daughter of his parents' work partners who was also genetically modified as part of the Proteus Project. During this period, the pair were frequently cared for by Lila's grandmother while their parents were working.

In 3327 AE, when Ari was three years old, a containment breach involving a pair of Zova resulted in the destruction of the research laboratory. Following the incident, Ari’s family fled Sovara and relocated to Vost. Later that year, Ari’s mother gave birth to his younger brother, Leo Lorano.

Life on Vost

In 3329 AE, the Theta Virus outbreak began, leading to widespread droid infections. In 3330 AE, when Ari was six years old, his parents were killed by an infected droid on Vost. Ari and his two-year-old brother were subsequently taken into the care of their uncle, Brax Irvan. Brax was a member of the newly founded Vost Militia, an organisation formed to eliminate infected droids on the planet.

After the Vost Militia had cleared the majority of infected droids, Vost's population was left in widespread poverty. The Militia established camps for orphaned children and assigned them to scavenging work throughout the cities. These camps later became known as the Vost Scrapper Guild. Ari grew up within the Guild, operating out of the the Krav Division led by his uncle Brax Irvan in the sprawling city of Krav. He worked as a scavenger and developed skills in mechanical repair. As the nephew of Brax, Ari was regarded as his personal favourite and was often rewarded more than other scrappers. His brother Leo later joined the Guild when he was old enough. During this period, Ari met and formed strong relationships with fellow scrappers Kairu Akuna and Domelo Marcell.

At first Ari was relatively contempt with life in the Scrapper guild, but he later grew a strong desire to become a pilot and explore the galaxy. He would often traverse the abandoned shipyard, breaking into inoperative starships and playing with the controls.

In 3341, a month after Ari turned seventeen years old, Ari discovered that his uncle Brax was planning on giving him to Proteus in exchange for a large amount of money. Ari decided to escape the Guild with his friends Kairu and Domelo. Upon discovering his escape, Brax sent Lila Sovech to locate Ari and return him alive. She was instructed not to pursue the other two escaped scrappers, though she was authorised to eliminate them if they interfered. Ari was caught and brought back to the Krav Division Tower where they confronted Brax and Proteus. However when Lila discovered that Brax double crossed her and was planning on handing her over to Proteus, she assisted Ari in his escape from the building. Joined by Kairu and Domelo, Ari and Lila fled the city.

Skills and Abilities

Regenerative Healing: Ari possesses accelerated healing abilities, allowing him to recover from injuries much faster than a normal human. He can also channel this power to calm or heal others through physical contact, however the effect is limited and can be taxing.

Scavenging Expertise: Due to his time on Vost as a scavenger for the Vost Scrapper Guild, Ari is skilled in scavenging, repair, and improvised combat.

Mechanical Aptitude: Experienced with machinery and vehicles, including assembling and modifying them.
